Installed QT4 on G3/266, OS 8.5.1, Adaptec 8945 Card (SCSI/1394). Capture efforts from Sony TRV9, previously working under QT 3.0.2, fail with -2010 error, both in Premiere 5.0 and 4.2. I am able to view the video with Apple Video Player, so I know the FireWire connection is intact. Anyone else with this problem?

To my previous post, I would like to add that although I can view the video with the Apple Video Player, when I attempt to capture I get an insufficient memory warning, with a suggestion to capture at a smaller size. I am using the same memory allocations as I did under QT3 - i.e., 150MB for Premiere.

I haven't tried it yet, but I believe it should work with Premiere 5.1a (updgrade to 5.1 and install the 5.1a patch). Hope this helps.

5.1a update does NOT fix the -2010 capture problem

Premiere 5.1a does not fix the problem. It is introduced by the Apple Quicktime DV extensions. Disable Quicktime DV Firewire Support and Quicktime DV Firewire Enabler and your problem should vanish. I have a beige G3/300 with the adaptec 8945 (called Firemax-2 by Promax) and had this same problem earlier today. Removing the extensions rectified it.
