subtitles in different language in FCP2 ?

Hi all,

Have a couple questions hopefully someone can help me out with.

We have the language kit fonts installed from the OS 9 CD.
Seems like we can type foreign language text into a word processor but not in Final Cut Pro 2

Was wondering if you can write in foreign language (Central European, Indian, Japanese, Chinese, etc) in Adobe Illustrator and import that into Final Cut Pro?

Or is there a easier way to do subtitles in different languages?
