Is there any way that I can utilize the digital (optical) out capability of a DAT deck to get recorded audio from the deck to my Mac without any analog-digital conversions? If so, what products do I need to purchase?
My Mac is a Lombard Powerbook (USB, SCSI, no Firewire), for reference.
TIA.

Thanks. This unit looks like it will do the trick, if only for a (large) bundle of dollars.

Hey. Glad i could help.
I vaguely remember someone else releasing something similar to that Tascam unit but for much less money. Let me look around and i'll post if i find anything.

Perfect!
This vendor has a cheaper price, just for the record (and the search engine).
