On a LAN connection, I get an error message as the installer goes to write the cached downloaded data to disk. The file that has the error is listed as "VISEData". I get an error number of 1076:13, -23008. Ideas? BTW, unless a firewall was installed in the last 24 hours, I am not attempting to download from behind one. TIA.

Exactly the same problem here.
The same error code appears immediately after I start the DL. (the VISEData... etc.) Is this a bandwidth issue? I'm not behind firewall either. If anyone has any ideas -email me - I'm dying to play around with QT4!!
I tend to agree with another person whose msg I read here about the "online" installers (not sure what the exact term is...)- they're great for the flexibility they offer some users, but I'd like to see a full, good ol' fashioned installer offered as well. It would be more convienient for those of us that want to install with extensions off, or for those with a dial-up connection who don't want to connect to reinstall, etc.
Oh well, let's all look on the bright side - it could be VivoPlayer!!

Cheers.

Apart from "me too", I have a couple of observations to offer.
I got the VISEdata error immediately as download of each individual component finished. The text in the installer window flew by too quickly to read, but the gist of it seemed to be a problem verifying the downloaded file.
The installer did not crash out at any time, and each time I restarted the download it resumed from where it left off. Thus, doing the "deluxe" download (8 components) required resuming the download 7 times. After the final component downloaded, installation went without a hitch.
For all those complaining about the lack of a complete download option, and having to make a network connection to reinstall/install on a different machine, there is a simple solution. Make the complete download once, save the install file, then install to other machines from the install file on your desktop. This worked fine on my PB5300 after downloading on my beige g3 after tranferring the installer over ethernet, and worked from a zip on another g3...the data does not appear to be machine-specific.
Another possible solution if you cannot connect with the online installer: use OTsessionWatcher to capture the address to which the installer tries to connect, then use anarchie or netscape to get the files. I didn't have to try this myself, so it may not work.

The procedure to create a full installer is to grab the file "QuickTime Install Cache" (it's moved to the quicktime folder after instalation) and place it with the "Quicktime installer" you had to download first. This will allow you to install it on multiple computers without needing to download it again. If you want a "FULL" installer, simply check everything in the custom install section and download.
Everything you download is kept in the "QuickTime Install Cache" even after installation
