Is anyone here using the Mac to write music? I wanted to share some of my successes and problems with some fellow Canadian musicians.

I currently use Logic Audio Platinum on my PowerBook G4 with a MOTU 828 audio interface. The software is great for almost everything, but a problem I'm coming up against is that I seem to get ASIO system overloads even when the signal from my sound module isn't hot at all. Any ideas?

I'm also looking for really good software synthesizers out there and would love some input as to what to get. I generally write electronic-based music including ambient and trance styles, if that's any help.

Try absynth www.absynth.com (i think)

it's amazing.

Also, I'm interested in your problems with the Tibook.

I can't help, but I think you might like to see if you can get new drivers.

Any other pros/ cons with the tibook?

cheers,

K
