Okay, I've just gone through the first part of a tape logging clips to be captured later.

I've got about 18 clips logged. I now want to go back and capture them; I right click on the clip and go to "capture".

The "initialising" bar comes up, then the "batch capture" window. I hit okay, and it says "Insert reel". I click okay. Then, I get an error - "An error occurred finding the specified capture scratch volume. Check the naming of your Capture Scratch volumes".

Anyone know what the go is?

Final Cut Pro 1.25.

I have 2, but haven't installed it on that machine yet. I might give it a go on this machine later; but I want to avoid having to if possible.

Any ideas? I have limited HD space to work with so I can't afford to capture the entire thing, and the clips are already logged, so I'd rather not have to go through all that again...

TIA

Unless I'm doing something really stupid and simple wrong, it seems NO capturing is working...

I haven't used FCP for a long time; let alone 1.25. I'm sure its something simple.

Nevermind - problem solved.

Good ole predictable Classic Mac OS

I had a network volume on this machine mounted on the other machine, with the same name as its local drive.

When selecting a volume by name, the Mac OS takes non-local drives first.

Try it. Name your drive something, and a network drive the same. Type the beginning of its name and the network volume gets selected; hit tab and the local one gets selected.

Gotta love it

Unmounted the volume and all is good.
