I have Macos 8.5.1, and seeded QT4 beta on my cpu, and now the control strip is gone. When I try to activate the control panel, I get a "could not start up the Control Strip" error. Anybody else have this problem? Love, Ovid

Do you have the "ATI Desktop Video" Control Strip module installed? It is part of the standard software install with the AATI XclaimVR card. It appears that if it's installed neither Apple's Control Strip nor Extensions Strip Control will launch.

I have had problems with the "ATI Desktop Video" Control Strip module with certain configurations under QT 3; so I suspect the problem is with the "ATI Desktop Video" CSM and not QT 4.

After installing QT4 I had a crash in the control strip. ES pulled it out of the debugger, but the CS didn't show up. I do have the ATI CS module installed. Will have to try disabling that & see what happens.

The ATI Desktop video extension CSM does indeed conflict with QT4 beta..possibly from the updated QT extension?..Who knows..Thanks and shout out to Jack Mello :<)

Just to add my 2 cents - I had the CS disappear too when I installed QT4. It may be a combination of that ATI extension and QT4, but I resolved it by uninstalling QT4 and going back to version 3.

(I'm running OS 8.5 by the way)
