I have had absolutely no luck with Quicktime 4 beta. First I get an error in the middle of downloading the file from the "active" installer and I had to start from scratch. Next, after the installation, I startup normally. However, after all extensions have loaded, and the disk icons start to appear on screen, I recieved a message like "Code failed to initialize" (restart) I have no choice but to restart. So, I load up the Extensions manager at startup and disable all quicktime related extensions. Now I am able to startup. Interestingly enough, I did not remove the Sound Manager beta, but I noticed a significant problem with the sound it produced. I have the Platinum sound set enabled for 8.5, and I noticed with the "new" beta sound manager that when I scroll down menu items quickly I get a significant amound of static feedback through my speakers. Reverting back to the Sound Manager included with QT 3, solved the problem and sounds sound much better system wide. Anyone with similar experiences/suggestions?
Thanks,
Aryeh
