Hey guys...I am wondering how I can make Scene menus for a quicktime movie to mimic that of a dvd. I have no real knowledge of flash so if any of you know how to do this I would be very greatful if you shared your knowledge. Would it be possible to have a image map and have each region of the map forward to a certain point in the movie?

Thanx for the help!

I think what you are looking for is a Chapter Track.

For more info on this and other powerful QuickTime features, see Apple's QuickTime Authoring Tutorials.

Chapter tracks alone aren't quite enough, though they're a part of what he wants. It's a two-step process.

The other step is actually constructing the menu. This can be done with Flash, but a more "native" solution would be to use Wired Sprites, like on QT5 skins. These are normally made with LiveStage Pro, from TotallyHip software. I'm afraid I don't know anything more than that.

Here's a quick test that I did one afternoon, about a month ago. Is this the type of thing you're looking for?

Note: this was a quick hack, and is not intended to work over the web. You'll need a pretty fast internet connection. If the movies don't play when you click the button, wait a few seconds, go back to the menu, then click the same movie again. You'll also need a pretty fast Mac.

Make that, you're only allowed to access the meteorite video, so you're not going to get to see anything else.

One cool thing to try (if it works for you), is to return to the menu while the meteorite video is playing.
