Hi.

Just "bumped" into a weired problem. I browsed around on the apple site and tried to watch some of the TV ad movies. Well, quicktime "stalled" and gave a message saying something like "can`t play this movie because of a missing QT extension....it is not available on the quicktime server".

Hmm....anyone else find it a bit "ironic" that i can`t see the AD movies on apple.com using a Tibook with the "latest" quicktime software?

Do you have QuickTime 5.0.2 installed? If not, then try upgrading to it. The newest trailers and ads on Apple's website are compressed using the Sorenson 3 video codec. Perhaps that could be causing the message you got.

Background:
QuickTime 5.0RT: Included with Final Cut Pro
QuickTime 5.0.1: First public release
QuickTime 5.0.2: Second public release, includes Sorenson 3 as a default

Do you happen to have Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher installed? From what I hear, that will disable Netscape extensions, one of which is Quicktime.

Hi.

Thanks for trying to help out.
Seems like i got quicktime 5.0.1, so i guess that`s the problem.
Guess i`m still out of luck because i downloaded this from apple three days ago, so this probably means this is the newest version in the laguage i`m using ( norwegian). Anyone know the procedure for uninstalling quicktime or installing a different language version on top of another?

Thanks.
