I'm using iMovie on a large 22" cinema display. Cool. But there's a problem when using large screens in iMovie: the movie window has a size which exceeds the natural resolution of the movie itself. It's approx 1024x768, where as the original resolution of DV would be 720x480 (NTSC) or 720x576 (PAL) only.
This means now, that the movie is stretched horizontally & vertically, thus leaving a image which is much more jagged than it would be originally.

can this be changed? I don't want to display the movie with a increased window size.

Maybe tampering with the preference file could work.

Any suggestions?

This is an applicaton thing. it Scales the Viewer up with the resolution in iMovie 2. I find it annoying too, iMove 1 did not do this, the shelf just got bigger.
