Has anyone noticed the dramatic framerate slowdown when playing Mac Quake (up to 7 FPS!) with QT4?
And what happened to the sound? It sounds like someone cut the high end response above 1 Khz and added a flanger!

I've just noticed the same thing! The sound is muted and distant -- perhaps 8 bit, although the settings say not. The problem continues after I've quit Quake: audio output stays distant and quieter.

I wonder if this doesn't have something to do with the Sound control panel which I believe was updated by QT4. I going to try to find an older copy on a backup and see whether that makes any difference.

Ben.

I downgraded my Sound Manager from that installed with QT 4 to Sound Manager 3.3 from QT 3.0.2 (I believe) and the sound has returned to normal. Minor yay.

I had a lot of trouble finding a copy of QT 3 on the net (I'm having problems with QT musical instruments too) and eventually resorted to reloading from a backup.

Ben.
