PowerbookG3 233 OS8.5.1
QT4 installed over previous QT3pro
This morning when I started up I got an error message that QT4 had expired and that I must go to apple for a newer version. Tried reinstalling from original, but same message.
Anyone else?...
Solutions?....

EEK! um, just a thought, but do you still have the password from QT3 around somewhere (stashed in an e-mail archive, perhaps) You should try re-entering if you can find it. I had QT3 Pro, and when I installed 4 over it, it automatically transfered the registration.
Good Luck,

Registration transferred on install for me, too. Ran fine yesterday. Downloaded the QT4 optimized Star Wars trailer and it worked OK, though it was a little much for my (now wimpy) 233. I now remember that QT did some funny auto update when it downloaded the trailer. It reminded me of sherlock telling me that it knows about some more recent plug-ins and will automatically download them.

problem solved,
somehow, the date on my computer got jumped to sept 23, 2037. Not surprising that this reported the beta as expired. The good news is that my Mac seems y2k compliant. The bad news - just when does the beta really expire? Soon? I hope the final release doesn't stall beyond the beta's life
