I installed the latest beta and now I can't play DVDs on my blue-and-white G3. I get a message from Quicktime telling me I do not have the Movie decompressor extension (or something along those lines), and then there is another message behind that one from Apple DVD player saying I do not have the proper hardware to play the disc. I have not tried uninstalling Quicktime, would that help?

After I first installed QT 4.0b21 (EVERYTHING) and tried to play a DVD on my PBG3/300, I was also told that the hardware wasn't installed properly (this is usually actually a sign of a software problem...). Then QT said that I was missing a piece necessary (Movie) and prompted me to download it, after which I could play movies again.
BUT, the quality totally SUCKS. It looks fine if played at 1x (why bother), but is horribly blocky when played at 2x or Fill Screen/Presentation mode. I also had a problem with A Bug's Life where I couldn't select the widescreen version, but only the standard version.
Also the Star Wars commercials had a freakish sound problem.
I reinstalled QT 3.0.2, and everything played fine.
When QT 4.0b22 was released, I reinstalled it to see if that fixed the problem. I didn't get the message about the Movie piece being missing, but the playback quality still was horrible.
VERY frustrating, back to 3.0.2 it is.
