Hi everyone, having a problem playing DVDs in my iMac. I keep getting the alert: The application "DVD Player" cannot be opened because "MSL C.PPC.DLL" cannot be found.'

Searched the HD with Sherlock for the missing item, did the usual desktop rebuild, searched the extension manager, even did a clean install of 9.0 then the upgrade to 9.04 (which I've been running for quite some time now). Nothing seems to reload the mysterious MSL C.PPC.DLL that's missing.

Anyone know what that file is, and how to 'reaquire' it?

I'm running a 400DV, 320 meg ram, and the DVD Player is version 2.2.

Thanks
Doug

Doug,

I had similar error messages a while back. I would recommend updating Apple DVD Player to version 2.7.

It's a free download from the apple.com website.

Hope this helps!!!

Thanks for the reply, Beetleboy. I went and read the read me file on 2.7 and the only problem I saw was that DVD 2.7 is for system 9.1 and above. I'm using 9.04. If anyone's using DVD 2.7 successfully on 9.04, let me know, and I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the info though.

Doug
