I just got a PVDV900 and a pyro firewire card( that I don't need but it was a good deal $700 for both). I would like to get some opinions on this camcorder.

The PV-DV900 is a solid consumer-level camcorder.

It will plug into an iMac DV with iMovie without problems. I demonstrated one over the holiday season. I hadn't seen iMovie or an iMac DV at the time, but within 40 minutes, I had a movie to show to prospects.

The DV900 has been discontinued, but the local Sears store around these parts has a couple for $750, I think. It could be less.

Can't tell you much about the Pyro card. I was going to go on a service call for someone who was trying to run it under Win 98 -- but they cancelled. Apparently, they got it working.
