I am trying to make an advertisement Cdrom, using stills, DV, imported sound and voice-overs. Then export it to a QuickTime movie for use in Macs and……. cough cough….. PC’s.
Tried using Imovie for this but the quality of the stills is poor.
Then I used Iview (love it), as it has a movie presentation feature, but it is very limited after using Imovie.
Spent about and hour testing PowerPoint as a solution to no avail.
I guess what I am asking is, what are you using (software) to author a CDrom of this type? Is there an Imovie type program out there that will render the higher resolutions on stills? I will only make a few of these each year.

iShell looks like it should be able to do more or less what you want. There are two major problems with it, though: - The projects are not self-running. This isn't as much of a problem as it might originally seem, because players are provided for Mac and Windows, as well as a way to have the player automatically launch a specific file on startup. With some clever work in Toast, it is very possible to make a CD where no one would even know the difference.
- Price. iShell is hideously expensive. Well, there's a free version, but the free player comes with a very annoying splash screen that stays up for a good twenty-seconds while the player loads (it actually loads much faster than this, but the splash screen is there as nagware).
This said, however, it's actually very good for what it does, and is worth taking a look at http://www.tribeworks.com .

Thanks for the pointer Kosh,
Ishell looks like the perfect tool for interactve multi. And they are reasonable for the hobbist. It is a little more of a learning curve I can spare at the moment as I only want to make hi-res movies to CDrom.
I did find out in the meantime that QT Pro has an obscure command in the movie/get movie properties/video track/high quality/check box that improves the image considerably.
Imovie is just so easy to use and can produce some nice results. The $ is right too.
Thanks again-B
