I noticed that in FCP when I add pictures and then render them, I get a black border around the picture in the movie. Like in Adobe Premiere, the picture is covering all of the movie screen up with no edges shown.

Is there a quick way or setting that can let me drag pictures to the time line and not have a border, and have the pictures take up the whole screen in the video?

thanks in advance

That's weird, it's sounds like they're being either scaled or cropped, can you tell which? I think you need to trawl though your prefs and presets, it's in there somewhere. But are they cropped or scaled?
