iMovie with a 7500 or PB lombard 333

I tried using iMovie on my trusty 7500. However, the results were a bit dissapointing. I can only capture a few seconds before obtaining a disk to slow error. I have Powerlogix G3 at 350/50 and internal scsi drives. My video card is an ixMicro URez. RAM is through the roof.

My feeling is I that need a better video card. Myabe an Orion. Is anybody using a 7500 of 7x00 model succesfully with iMovie?

Alernatively I can move my video editing to a lombard 333 with a Firewire PC card. Anybody using this setup?
