How do I convert a SimpleSound alert from OS 9 into an Aiff for use in OS X? The sound I want to convert comes from

Drag the sound file onto QuickTime Player (Pro I think you need), then go to File -> Export, and choose AIFF.

or... use sound app. the sound app allows batch processing  .. now i can
convert a lot of a system7 sounds.

Where can I get sound app from? I ran Sherlock, and it doesn't come with OS 9. Please help!

I converted the ClixSound tpo an .aiff and placed it in the SOunds forlder in the Syten Folder in OS X. It didn't work. The sound did not appear in the System Prefs panel!!!!
HELP!!!!

Not only does the file need to be an AIFF, but it needs to be a 44.1kHz, 16bit stereo AIFF. It should have an ".aiff" extension (not just ".aif"), and be in the /System/Library/Sounds directory.
