I have waited for one year to upgrade to FCP because of money. I am a teacher and today found out the education price on FCP is 249. What a steal.

PLEASE Someone respond and tell me they are running an IMAC DVSE 400 mhz or older imac and using FCP flawlessly. Apple's stance is they don't support.

Please let me know best case worst case. thanks in advance.

I don't mind slow if it works. right now i am taking most everything to QT Pro rendereing exporting my layers to dv stream then back into imovie, takes forever. anyway thanks. coach@martysimpson.com

I think it should be possible to run it on a iMacDV 400, not sure about older models though. If you are running OSX, wait a couple of days/weeks, as FCP X should be announced shortly.

for more about iMac and FCP go to the discussions forum at www.2-pop.com.

Where does Apple state it isn't supported? It'll work fine.

I use a FCP on a Beige G3. It ain't slow! But it won't playback, I have to scrub through instead. This is an issue only with Beige G3s.
