How can I store iMovie projects?

I would like to store iMovie projects off-line in their structured form (as opposed to playing them onto a DV tape), but a typical iMovie project is several times larger than the capacity of a CD-R disk. So, what is the best solution? I am considering the Que DVD-R drive, which attaches to FireWire and stores a couple gig, but it isn't cheap, and neither are the DVD-R disks. Is there a mainstream removable disk or tape format, one that will be around in 10 years? How about some really clever software that backs up files onto my DV camera? I'd pay for that.

I've got the same problem, and I think to buy a DAT TapeRecorder only for video BackUp…
