I'm working on a project and export rough cuts as it progresses. The windows people in my group complain about how dark it is, yet it looks fine on my Ti (and my friends iBook). I even saw the phomonoa (sp?) myself.

I believe this may be caused by windows/mac gamma differences but what should i do.

If you are interested said rough cut can be seen at:

(30+ meg so watch out)

i've been using 2.1for the past few years. i'm sure there is a better solution, but that's been mine.

I downloaded it to my iMac and could see nothing until I used the video controls in QT5 and set brightness clear to the right. It may be that your color profile is way off. Open the Monitors and Sound control panel, click on Color and follow the instructions to recalibrate your monitor. Then you might also want to create a separate profile for PC gamma, so that you can insure that it is still viewable on a PC monitor. It is fairly quick then to switch between the two profiles.

Under Windows, go to the Quicktime Control Panel. Somewhere in there is a setting for Direct 3D stuff. Turn off Direct 3D Acceleration. That fixed the problem on my windows box...

The problem is not connected to gamma at all. Its your general video levels that are too low. Currently your highlights are in the 100s range, where they should be in the 200s range.

Use an app like afterfx to process your video with a levels filter, to raise your levels while keeping the dark mood.
