When you finished your clip in Imovie and want to put it on a Vcd or Svcd you need to convert it into mpeg.

as far as i know, first step is to export from imovie to quicktime movie ( wich take very long time, and then covert the .mov to mpeg...

Is there any way to pass by the .mov step ?

I guess apple by buying astarte is working on it ... but I would like not to wait too long ...

When you export via Quicktime (You should have QT4.1.2PRO)you can choose to Export to MPEG rather than to Quicktime Movie but unless you have an MPEG codec from say Heuris or Astarte, there's nothing you can do short of buying MediaCleanerPro which gives you the basic Heuris MPEG codec or buy M.PACK from Astarte. The next upgrade of Quicktime is set to improve QT's overall MPEG support. Who knows when though!

Sorry about the confusion. Unless you have an MPEG codec from the previously mentioned packages the export to mpeg won't work. Wait for QT4.5 / QT5!!!
