The holidays are soon upon us.
My wife is a song writer and does it the old fashon way-paper.
Is there an app that would help her?

Thanks-Brad

Finale...

It's a pretty expensive application, but it's great. I've done lots of composing, and it's got many features, is pretty easy to lay your thoughts out on the musical staff, and is very versatile. Also, to hear your music played back, with whtever instrument you want for each part, is great. There are others, but this is my personal (and most others') favorite. Hope this help!!

Funny you should mention Finale.
I just downloaded the "Free" version for testing. I know very little about music, so this should prove interesting (can't ask my local expert or it would blow the surprize).

Have you tried the free version, is it usable for a beginner (byte composer that is).

I think I downlaoded the free version once, but had some problems and issues actually playing back what I had written thru midi...I think it came with a very minimal amount of drivers and such needed by finale to play this back..or maybe I just didn't install it correctly or something. But give it a try. The good thing about finale is that you should be able to find a very extensive amount of documentation on it..good luck!!
