ok, i am really in a pinch here, so I am hoping someone will help me out. i have a video project due in a couple of days worth 16 credits, and i have about 5 hours of video to edit down to a 15 min docu. i sat down to import it into iMovi today and, well, its all messed up.

i am using a samsung SCD55 camera and the video plays fine in iMovie but when i try to capture it it gets all scrambled with little block of rainbow colors everywhere, totally useless. i can't get it to work. is there anything i can do? PLEASE HELP ASAP!

What type of tape are you using?

Sounds like you may be taking a regular 8 tape and trying to make a digital 8 camera read it. If so, it's not that easy. You'll need more hardware.

thanks for replying. the camera uses mini-DV tapes and that is what i shot on. mini-DV.
