Hello !

I have already made a few movies with iMovie and I was very pleased with it until today. I am working on a quiet important project (wedding) and suddently, after 3 or 4 minutes of editing, I haven't been able to trash about 1 GB of images. iMovie quit and now, when I want to open my project, it says "your project file is not readable" and I get systematically Type 2 or Type 11 error messages. So I cannot open it (all the little images in my project seems to be broken).

So I erased iMovie and re-installed it. Nothing changed. I erased the preferences, no result either. What can I do ? Maybe 128 MB of RAM is not enough ? It is interesting to note that all less important projects (in size) do work perfectly. My project makes already 1,98 GB... My config is G4 cube 500mhz; 128 MB (more than 60 MB for iMovie); 60 GB HD. I also use the transition pack from geethree.com

Any help would be greatly appreciated !!! :-)

I don't know what "Type 2" and "Type 11" errors mean! Can someone tell us? And 128 meg should be enough, the problem must be elsewhere

Hi there,

Don't know if this helps, as it is not a complete answer, but recently on the main Macnn.com page was a little snippet about a work around for projects that iMovie has damaged. i clicked the link, but it didn't take me anywhere Still, it would appear that there is a problem with iMovie and large projects... Don't know what version of iMovie it relates to, but I think it was iMovie 2.

If you happen to find the workaround, perhaps you could post it here.
