Can anyone help me enable DV-in on the DCR-PC1E, which I bought while on holiday in the States, so that I can edit my movies and send them back to tape?
I have tried a Sesame 1 enabler from Rollmaster with no success. Any ideas?

I need more info to help you. Which program are you using? (ie iMovie, Final Cut Pro). And tell me exactly whats happening when you export to DV.

I'm using iMovie and export function is greyed (or grayed) out. My Sony PC1's DV-in is disabled for the European market (something to do with higher tax rate on camcorders that will record from external sources)

is your video in iMovie using NTSC or PAL? Cause it might be a region problem. Your camera is most likley NTSC, what is your region?

The Sony DCR -PC1E camera is PAL (the E desinates the European market, I believe) and the video clip on the iMac is PAL

Hi Robbie
You need to go to WWW.datavision.co.uk
check out their site for the DV-Widget that suits your camera.
This is simple to use (hey, I managed it)
and costs about 90 quid - WELL worth the cost. And you can't use anyone elses - the widget will only unlock dv-in on one camera at a time...

God, and I was thinking about selling and buying a new camera with DV-IN.
Has anybody tried the DV Widget with the PC1E?

Yes - don't panic - they have various widgets and I've yet to come across one that fouled up. Simple and effective, if a little expensive. Although cheaper than buying a PC100
