Canon ZR25MC. Who likes it?

(I originally made the mistake of posting this in the peripherals forum.)
I must admit that the world of DV camcorders is new to me. This summer my family is going to Europe and my Dad wants a new camcorder since his is 8mm is 12 years old and I broke it last year. So DV seems like the way to go. After shopping around we really like the ZR25mc. Has anyone used this camera with iMovie? Does it work well? I've been seeing it for $800 at stores here in New York. On the internet I've been seeing it in the $600s and $700s but none of these sites mention warrantee. My Dad is very concerned about buying a camera with a grey market warrantee.
My Dad has never used a computer before but I'm taking my Pismo on this trip so I can show him how cool iMovie is by editing the video on the plane ride home. After that I plan to get him a new iBook. I think that would be perfect for him. I also want to take stills along the trip and email them to family back home every night. Canon is having a promotion right now that lasts until June 30th were you get a free USB smart card reader if you buy a ZR25 or 30. That's good for me since I don't have one. Also I just found that MacZone will sell if to you for $750 if you call them (the catalog shows $799 crossed out and CALL.) Also no tax with them but there is shipping. Tax in NY here is 8.5% so we'll definitely save. I just hope that this promotion isn't signaling that there will be a price drop on July 1st. If only there were DV camcorder rumor sites.
Anyone have experience with the ZR line? How well does it work with iMovie? Thanks.

YES!!! I have it too! and i got it for under $700!!!! It works great with iMovie2!!!! It's a cool camcorder! you will definitely enjoy it! I got the 25MC

Flipmacster. Can you tell me where you bought it from? I've see it in the $600s at many sites but none of those sites ever mention a warrantee. Do you have a warrantee?
