I've desperately tried to found out if Apple or some other third party developer will support Sony's new camcorders DCR-IP5 and DCR-IP7. The problem is that they are using a new format to store data based on MPEG-2 (MicroMV), which is not compatible with the normal DV or mini-DV format. In the meantime(?) Sony is bundling their new camcorders with their own windows-only application MovieShaker v3.1, which of course is of little help for us mac users . Anyone who knows about Apples plans or how I should go further to find out myself?
