I am running a Pismo with a DVD/DC player built-in, and a Yamaha 8/8/24 firewire connected for burning. I have successfully burned music, data files and digital photos. But some of the latter are troubling. Some will play only on the DVD/CD player, and some only on the Yamaha. When they won't play, they begin to go through the mounting process, and then the computer locks up, nothing works, icons disappear, and the CD icon never appears.I have to re-boot after turning off the offending hardware.
This I cannot figure. The photos are obviously there and I can transfer them back to the HD from the working drive.
This is a problem because if I am making CDs for others to use, I am never sure whether a CD will be usable for them without checking each one. And even then, if there are problems, how do I know that the CD will work on other machines?
Any thoughts?
JV
