Has anyone heard when Apple will have iMovie 2.0 available for download in the Apple store?

probably never, you need to order the CD

i may be way off here, but Apple was clever in that they released the original version of iMovie for free download to get others hooked on it (such as myself, who has not bought an Apple computer with iMovie as part of bundled software)... now the ones 'hooked' want the new version and must pay for it...

look, business is business and making money is the name of the game like it or not

such is life

Apple has said that sometime in Sept. it will be ready for download for $49 in the store...I was wondering whether anyone has heard an update or specific date.

I agree, however, that Apple is just doing business and getting all of us hooked on iMovie for free is probably part of the plan.

ah, i see, thanks for that bit of info... i'd thought you meant a free download, as you were not specific

and even so i'd rather have the CD on hand for unforseeable issues that may arise, because they DO arise... i know that many have broadband and do not care about downloading times, but what about being in the Grand Canyon with just your PB and digividcam? there are situations less extreme when it would be nice to have that CD media handy...

If you have a cd burner and are in a hurry just download the program and burn a cd...problem solved. The file for the image is about 162 megs so I hope you have cable or dsl.
