I have an 8x4x32 Que! firewire CD burner. For some reason iTunes does not recognize it, even though it's listed as a compatible drive. I thought there may have been a conflict with Toast, which came bundled with the burner. But after uninstalling Toast, the problem still remained. Any suggestions?

Go into the Extensions Manager and make sure that any extension that has "Toast" in its title is turned off and make sure that FireWire authoring extension is turned on. I set-up two different extension sets and toggled between the two.

Then I bought Roxio Toast 5.1--which alleviates the problem entirely,

HTH... .
I am stupidest when I try to be funny.
