I have a strange problem on my B&W G3. My Sony Digital 8 camera worked perfectly with my G3 when I was using Mac OS 8.6, but since upgrading to 9.0.4 the computer locks up whenever the camera is plugged in and turned on.
Booting the computer with the camera attatched causes a crash. If I remove the Firewire Enabler extention, the computer behaves normally, with the exception of no camera connectivity. I tried my friends Digital 8 and the same thing happened. I've used both cameras on an iMac DVSE running OS 9 without any problems. I've tried replacing the Firewire Enabler with every version available with no success.
I'm currently running both OS's on separate HDs and booting from the OS 8.6 drive when I want to do DV, which is annoying and inconvenient. I would be grateful for any suggestions to remedy this.
