you can only order iDVD2 through the apple store online. i called up the local apple store to ask if i could buy it locally, and the guy i talked to said that in the future, apple may give them some sort of package that has the iDVD2 software (sort of like the 10.1 updates), but he said apple hasn't given the final word yet.

and on a side note, i think that it is wrong for your wife to disapprove of buying software 'cos it looks cool. i mean, hasn't she ever bought something simply because it looks nice? like flowers? you can do more with iDVD2 than you can with flowers
