The Canon ZR10 is quite versatile for audio/video input. It has firewire, s-video and composite audio/video ports (all of these ports work as both an input and output source, except for maybe the s-video). So as long as your old camcorder has output that matches these types of input, you should be able to transfer to the ZR10. I have used my VCR to copy tapes to the ZR10 and then used the ZR10 back to the VCR to make multiple duplicates. I used my VCR's video and audio left and right output ports into the ZR10, then just reattached these cable to the VCR's video and audio left and right input ports to copy back from the ZR10 to a new video tape. The ZR10 is a nice little camera that works great with iMovie, it has a good battery life (about 90 minutes), various exposure settings (e.g., for snow/sand, low light, etc.), and is versatile for audio/video input and output as I described above. I recommend this camera as I've had one since July.
