Hi,
version 2.3 of the VDV player allows now to directly select files (Video_TS)!?
I tried this with different files (created one for myself, copied one from a DVD, ..) but did not succeed!

Does anybody know how this should work!?
Thanks
Peter

Thank you for the link!

I looked it over but it does not really seem what I am looking for.

Actually I do NOT want to rip a DVD. The other way round, I would like to put my DV material (e.g. from iMovie) onto a ordinary CD.
I know how to do that in the VCD standard, but the quality is far too low (IMHO).

To my knowledge there are two other standards suitable: SVCD and MiniDVD.
Does anybody know how to do that?

If you want to play your CD in a DVD player VCD, SVCD or XVCD is the way to go (very few DVD players play miniDVDs). Go to www.vcdhelp.com to find out more. There is also a forum there for Mac users that will give you info on how to make them. Unfortunately you can't make an XVCD on a Mac (I don't think) and to make SVCDs you'll need Virtual PC (or an actual Wintel PC).

However, if you just want to play your video on your computer there are better and simpler ways than VCDs (SVCDs aren't even playable on the computer) ; use Quicktime. If this is the case and you need pointers just post back and I'll try to help you out.
