I'll try my best to explain the problem:

FCP won't playback ANYTHING on the canvas (clips, effects, transitions, generators, etc.). I get the blue-black "UNRENDERED" screen when I playback. However, I *can* do RT video scrubbing (effects and all included).

I've tried changing the editing timebase to match the clips, even the size of the sequence, the encoder, etc. but nothing I've tried seems to work.

Can any FCP3 people please help me out.

hmm...

i've used FCP one or two times. enough to ask the obvious:
did you render your clips?


you go up to up to the "Sequence" menu and select "render all" (or "render from start to finish")....

now, go to sleep. it takes some time, usually.
