I downloaded an mpeg clip that plays fine in Windows Media Player on a PC, but only plays the first 5 seconds on the Mac in Quicktime. This happens with a few of the mpegs that i get off the net.

Any ideas?

I noticed the same thing. I even have a few that were ok, now they are in the state you described. I haven't yet figured out how to fix it.

MPEG-2 solution for the mac.... I have had problems getting sparkle and various software mpeg players to play MPEG-2. The best solution I have found is Wired Inc.'s Wired4DVD card. It is a hardware DVD decoder, but also allows you to play MPEG-1 and 2 files off your hard drive.
