The subject line pretty much sums it up. I've tried plugging it into every USB port I have (hub, keyboard, the machine itself). I've tried plugging it in before and after starting iTunes, turning it off and on, everything I can think of. The Rio500 is listed by apple as a supported MP3 player. The software fom Diamond sees it okay, but I'd like to use iTunes.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

JEff

I have the opposite problem: iTunes sees my Rio 500 fine (internal 64MB of memory and the extra 16MB I have in it), but the software from Diamond (Soundjam) no longer sees the Rio.

For what it's worth, iTunes seems to install some extensions for the Rio and other MP3 players - make sure you haven't accidentally disabled these.

First of all, make absolutely certain you're not dealing with a USB problem. Disconnect all USB devices from your hub (obviously leave your keyboard plugged in) and restart. If it still doesn't work after that, you probably have an extension problem. At that point, take out all extensions and preferences that relate to SoundJam. Restart, then you should have no problems.

Well. thanks for your responses. I got it working -- trouble is, I futzed around with so many extensions in the process, I have no idea what finally made it work. (I have a hunch it was a duplicate USB scanner driver.)
