Hello everyone,
I am new to the world of multimedia from a Macintosh perspective. My question what are some of the applications that I can use for creating music this will include making music videos as well as making movies? Any websites that offer advice or will contain information on these topics will be very helpful as well? A Powerbook G3/Firewire will be use as my main computer. I am not a big fan of desktops.
Thank You
Joshua

Mutimedia on the Mac is going to be similar to that of the PC, only much, much better.
Music: Not my thing, but try here Macintosh Music Software
Video: Final Cut Pro by Apple. Damn fine piece of software, and I'm saything this not just because I'm a MacHead.
2-pop. A good FCP web site
I've done some short projects on a G3 Firewire PowerBook (Pre-iBook & TiBook) and it was fine. Just get the biggest, fastest Firewire drive you can afford.

Maybe you should post your budget because there are some really expensive apps out there. I personally like Final Cut Pro. It's a good program, not too complicated, and I think it's priced more competitively than other equivalent programs out there. I hear that the newest version can do some real time stuff with the newer G4s, but that doesn't apply to you.
iMovie is a nice little program. If you just want to dabble and don't care for advance features, this should be able to handle it. It's free, so there's nothing to lose. And ditto on the http://www.2-pop.com/

Thanks Simon X and P dot, http://www.2-pop.com is a great site....... I have a little experience with Final Cut and it is a monster of program.... Right now the price is not to much of a concern for I am just gathering information but if it will make things easier I am not trying to go higher than $2000.00 for each application...... as for the music you guys may want to check out http://www.macmusic.org is decent and try http://www.mtlc.net as well... well I am still trying to gather more information so if you guys have anymore let me know... that goes for anyone else as well......
Thank You
Joshua
