ok... so i was really excited about itunes.
and i still am.
but one of the cd's i ripped w/ itunes came out with a lot of jumps, skips, and snaps...
i've been ripping at the middle quality, which is the itunes default...

has anyone else been finding this to be true?
lmk.

poocat.

oh, and i'm in 9.1, and the cd has no scratches, at least relative to the other cd's i've ripped that worked fine.
could this be an issue about running other programs while ripping?

Did you have any programs running in the background or anything else that would use up processor time?

is yr CD Rom drive dirty maybe? or does the disk have a sticker on it or something that would make it spin crooked-ly?

thanks for the responses....
my drive is clean, the disc is clean...
i had aim and seti running while ripping... and eudora.
but i've had those running while ripping w/ other stuff, and it didn't seem to matter...
(by the above i mean while ripping w/ audion)

hmm.
i'm just curious as to whether it's an itunes issue or a me messing it up issue...
no way to know for sure, i guess.

i just wish they'd get an itunes 1.1 out soon, and plugins.
though i have to say, after hating toast for years, 5 seems promising...

thanks again,
poocat.

just the fact that toast 5 will run in the background is enough reason to buy it.
