Your help much appreciated in figuring out this conundrum?

Can QT PRO make Windoze Media Player compatible content?

I have QT .movies that I need to convert to a format that can be played on Windoze Media Player. (for the miserable buggers that can't, won't, or who are too lazy to download QT or RM plugins)

I have QT Pro, but have not found an export setting that would appear to do Windoze. The apple Qt site has provided much wonderful info, everything that is, except what I'm looking for. After 25 minuted on hold with QT tech support yesterday on another Qt issue and numerous hours looking hither and thither, I figure i better come to where the real experts live...

Thanks again,
Vsurfer

(Intriguing how exceptionally mystical this video stuff is for folk who are new to it)

Have you tried exporting using the "Movie to AVI" setting? if you don't have them already, you can download the Intel Indeo 4 & 5 codecs from Apple's software site 9just do a search on 'indeo"):

Perhaps your users will see the quality difference between AVI and QuickTime and make the switch. Didn't they learn anything from the Star Wars trailer?

If you are providing the content via CD-ROM, you should include the full installer for QuickTime. That will save them the download time. Better yet, make the CD a Mac/ISO hybrid and include the MacOS and Windoze full installers. Download them from:
