I have a friend that runs QTpro on his windows machine(friendship overcomes flaws) and he recently saved a QTpro movie in the .mov format and sent it to me. But my QT on OS 9.1 won't play it. It tells me i don't have the required something or other that i need to run it. Is this normal? I thought QT would play all .mov's

On your friend's machine, with the movie open, Get Info to see what video codec was used to create the movie.

You'll need a compatible codec to play back this video on any other machine.
