My old DVD player will not support iDVD. Can anyone recommend a DVD player which is absolutely bulletproof and will play iDVD discs?

Thanks.

Do you mean a DVD-ROM drive or a stand alone player for your TV?

For DVD player compatibility with DVD-R, DVD-RW, etc. check VCD help.com's DVD Players Compatibility list.

Personally, I have an Apex 1500. It's the cheapest out there (at $70), and plays everything. I’ve tried VCDs, XVCDs, SVCDs, XSVCDs, mp3 CDs, CDR and CDRW discs

A stand-alone player to replace my old Toshiba. Sorry I didn't make that clear.

Is the Apex well made?

Not really, but for $70 I'm not complaining either. Check out the feedback on it. It's popular because it is very easy to disable macrovision protection and region settings. It also plays almost every format out there.
