I'm looking for tips on editing audio clips using iMovie with a Sony TRV11. iMovie lets you add audio/music, but as far as I can tell you can't increase and decrease the volume on a clip. You can set the volume, keep it there, fade in and fade out, but cannot change the volume within a clip (ie. turn the music down when someone is speaking then turn it back up). I've tried splitting the audio clip, but it isn't a seamless transition. I tried using an analog input with a volume control, but you can't listen to the original playback while recording which makes it difficult to edit. The TRV11 has a nice way to add audio to the second channel if you record in 12-bit. You can then listen to the source while adding to the second channel. When I export back to the camera from iMovie it is in 16-bit. Is there any way to record back to the camera in 12-bit mode so I can add audio on the camera or is there a better way?
