I have recently discovered a problem with Quicktime (I'm using OS X) and certain PC-originated MPEG-1 files (not VCD).
Some files are 20 to 30 minutes long (200 - 300 MB) and Quicktime says they're 2 minutes only (and will play only that).

On my PC laptop, these MPEG files are played alright by Windows Media Player (20+ minutes). Like I said, this occurs only with CERTAIN of my files : most are played correctly by QT.

Any idea why Quicktime gets a wrong duration on some MPEG files ?
Is there any way to fix that ?

Are they AVI files? What are the codecs?
