I just installed QT 5.0b8 which is available to Apple Developer Connection Members in the"Free, sign up " section.
Haven't noticed the improvements over the last build, but found 2 annoyances.
First it reset all my MP3 prefs in Netscape to QT, something I would expect from Real Player.
Then there is an annoying startup movie or something that I can't find to get rid of.
Does anyone know how to stop that thing?

Where did you find it. I am a "free" member and I cannot locate the "beta" version that you downloaded.

Enter Apple Developer Connection site w/password, go to "download software." On left scroll down till you see QuickTime.
