Midis are garbled using QT 5.0.2. Seeing the problem whether booting from OS 9.2.2 or 10.1.3. Midis play fine using external Firewire drive with only 9.2.2 installed. Is this an OS X issue?
G4/OS 9.2.2/OS 10.1.3/867/640/60 G.

We noticed this problem when playing back scores from Finale, and checked with Finale support. It seems that there is a problem with QT 5 and any MIDI files as you are experiencing. Finale's workaround was to re-install QT 4 and use that when working with MIDI files. It solved the problem. All of us in the digital music world are hoping that there will be a proper fix in future releases of QT.

Thank you for the response. I did solve the problem in OS 9.2.2 on the main HD by turning on VM. However, the problem remains in the Classic mode. I do a lot of things with midis (mostly embedded) and, with this problem, this precludes me from using OS X. I'll look at QT 4 and I thank you for the tip.
Best wishes.....
