Hi,

I am sure you have got this question many times, but what I would like to know is how to play DivX movies, I downloaded DivX 5.0 alpha, and followed the instructions under OS9 and 10, I have a iBook 500 Rev. A 320Mb of Ram, let me know what to do.

you're going to have to first tell us what the problem is. Do you get video and/or sound? when you open a movie and look at it's properties, what format are the video and audio in? Does the file play on Windows? Do you get the same problems in OS 9 as in X?
blackmail is such an ugly word. I prefer extortion. the X makes it sound cool

well what happens in OSX is that I open it in Quicktime Player, there is audio and stuff, but there is no video, and I have downloaded components or whatever, and installed them as it said, but I still get no video, it is just white.

The problem might also be that it's an old DivX format, using the WMP MP42 codec. In that case you'll have to download the classic DiVX player from mac.divx.st and watch it using that.

Hey Chuck,

Thanks so much, I received your e-mail a day or two ago, and well yeah it worked great, I have been busy watching movies. Thanks so much, I had a fear of having to goto MacOS 9 to play DivX movies, I never goto OS9, but it was playing and then you sent me that.

Long live X.
